This last couple of months I have been trying to have Sienna learn to play on her own. She spends a little time in her bed room with some of her toys and it gives me a chance to clean and get things done around the house. Up until this week it has not always gone so smoothly. Some days she is Ok with it, but other days she doesn't want to play alone.
The good news, this last week she has started really enjoying alone play time.
The bad news, she has started creating a huge mess in her room.
I came into her room earlier this week and found her drawers and closet completely emptied of clothes and shoes and everything else. I was mad to have another mess to clean up. Lately I feel like messes are made faster than I can clean up. Sienna, however was happy and had been completely content to spend time in her room alone. When I told her she shouldn't be pulling everything out of her closet and dresser she responded with "But Mom". I thought that was a phrase I wouldn't hear for a couple more years. She gave me a huge smile. How can you be mad at that face? Oh well, she is learning to clean up her messes.

It seems as though I experience these issues about 8 months ahead of you and just when I feel all alone in my struggles, I see a post like this. I know it doesn't help with your struggles, but it makes me feel good to know that my little one is not alone in her attempts to explore her surroundings while managing to make my life a bit more challenging. Oh, the joys!
Naomi was and is this way during her "quiet time" we have had to limit the amount of toys she has in her room.
