Today was S's last day of pre-school. I can't believe she is all ready for Kindergarten.

This is Mrs. Carmen, S and J's teacher. We love her and feel so blessed to have found her. She lives down the street from us and one night while we were walking we saw a sign on her lawn. Lucky for us J still has some more time in pre-school.

S said her favorite thing to do at pre-school was to play in the kitchen. I am so proud of my little five year old.

She is off to Kindergarten in a month.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to our favorite fathers.

Today we spent Father's Day with family at the Elephant Bar. Unfortunately, Steve had to work last minute, so we stopped by the station to say hi and give him his Father's Day gifts.

While waiting for our check, we passed time by taking pictures and making funny faces.

Engineer Promotion

For the last 4+ years Steve has worked in Azusa at station 32. He has been working hard as a paramedic. This last week we found out that he had been promoted to engineer. That means he will be driving the Fire engine.

We came to eat dinner and spend the evening with him on his last night. S was excited to take a ride in the fire engine around the neighborhood.

We were happy to see Grandma Judy and Grandpa Donnie.

One of the best parts of Steve's fire station was the slide. It goes from the dorms upstairs to the engine below.

These monkeys could have stayed on the slide all night long. Steve and I played on the fire pole. One of the last of its kind.

Good bye Station 32, Hello Station 11 in Alta Dena.

Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival

Every once in a while we step outside our house and there is a hot air balloon floating close or on the horizon. Sometimes there are many hot air balloons, and they always make me happy. One day I think I want to ride one. It is on my bucket list. Well every year there is a Balloon and Wine festival in the town near ours and Steve and I have been saying we were going to go to it for years. This year we actually did. You can watch the balloons be released and return, there are many venders selling all sorts of things, and several concerts.

We planned to wake up early to see the balloons return, but it was such a foggy morning the balloons were not released close to us. Instead we enjoyed walking around and spinning the wheels to win free stuff (lots of key chains and junk) and looking at all the vendors. Later that afternoon we went back to meet Steve's work friends and watch the concert.

I had mentioned to my friend Annie that we were thinking of going to the festival and she suggested we stay to watch them light up the balloons. Since we hadn't seen them in the morning, we decided to stay out late and watch the balloons light up. I am so glad we did.

This is my favorite pictures. Steve took it on his phone.

I think we found a fun yearly tradition.
