Birthday Swim

We celebrated S's birthday last weekend with family at Tami and Scott's pool.

 Someone likes to keep warm! She could lay out on her towel all day.

S loves to swim, and she is so proud of the fact that she does not need floaties. She was being so brave this weekend by jumping off the waterfall all by herself.

S and J had lots of fun with their cousins.

 

The Popsicles we had after swimming were very tasty.  Happy Birthday to my baby girl.

We had a visit from Heidi, Marcus, C, C and C. We had fun visiting the San Diego Zoo. Some of our favorite animals were the playful monkeys, the hippo and her baby, and the orangutan who thought she was human.

We stopped for lunch.

A visit from Dave and Nicole

Vernal Pools
This last week we were happy to have Dave and Nicole come for a visit. On the fist day of Dave's visit I thought I would take him on a hike to see a pretty seasonal pool on the Santa Rosa Plateau.

We made it to Vernal pools, but sadly there was not any water, and the wooden boardwalk that took you out over the water had been destroyed in a storm.

Dave, this is what it would have looked like. This was from two years ago, before the storm.







So, after a rest we walked back to our car.


We did see lots of rolly pollies, caterpillars, and one large red ant along the way.


J was a poky hiker since she wanted to stop and look at every single rolly-polly.


Lake Arrowhead
Nicole arrived late Saturday evening, and since it wasn't beach weather the next day we headed to the mountains where there was snow. Lake Arrow head is one of our favorite place, unfortunately it was so cold we didn't take many pictures. We quickly fed the ducks, window shopped and ate some pizza. We were to busy trying to stay warm the camera never made it out.


SeaWorld
We went to SeaWorld with Dave and Nicole. It was a fun day (I hope we didn't wear you both out) looking at star fish, watching the dolphin and Shamu shows and looking at all the animals.







We went and looked at sharks. Mom and dad, maybe you need a refresher on what sharks look like.








On the last day that Dave and Nicole spent with us they spoiled our girls with Easter baskets filled with candy.
