A great Valentine's weekend

For Valentine's this year my sweet husband surprised me with a trip to Hawaii. We went to the island of Oahu and stayed at this grand place.

We were welcomed with beautiful lays.



This is a view of the Lagoon from our room. It was an amazing view and we loved spending time out on our balcony.

There was so much to do. One day we stayed around the resort and enjoyed the lagoon.

Steve enjoyed some time on the surf board, and then we took a trip around the lagoon in a canoe.

We also spent some time in the pool. Sienna loved the pool. She especially loved the little water slide that went from one pool to another.

I couldn't resist taking some pictures of my sweet little girl in her Hawaiian dresses. Lucky for me she felt in the mood to smile. Lately she has been either hiding her face or giving me a crusty look. I think it must have been the fact that we were on vacation in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Thank you Aunt Kim and Crystal for such cute dresses.


On another day we went on a hike. It was a little windy but we saw such beautiful sights.




On another day we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center were we learned more about the customs of Fiji, Hawai'i, Maori new Zealand, Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga.
We watched many dances, and Sienna decided to join in on the Samoan dance.

She also learned how to play with sticks like the people of New Zealand.

Steve tried to show us how to make fire with two sticks. He was sucessful at making smoke, but the Samoan man was able to make it in less than two minutes. Maybe next time honey.

We even took the time to get a tatoo from the island of New Zealand.

We saw and learned so much that day that we wished we had time to go back. We loved our time in Hawaii and wish we had more time to see and do all that is available on the island of Oahu. We look forward to going back sometime in the future. Thank you Steve for a wonderful Valentine's day.

Snow fun

Look how beautiful this place is. Who wouldn't want to live here. We went to visit my sister and her family on the Utah ranch they live on. They have horses and goats, and a great hill for sledding.

Sienna enjoyed being outdoors with her Mimi. Look how cute she is in her puffy jacked and hat.

We got to ride on a snowmobile.


Sienna even had a chance to go sledding. Mimi convinced us to go on the "slow sled", which was not very slow, or easy to control. When we got to the bottom of the hill, I was grateful to have made it without any broken bones. Sienna However, said "More, more." We ended up going down the hill three more times.


While in Utah we had a chance to go to Temple Square and see the lights. The lights at the Temple were beautiful.


Sienna sure does love her cousins. We wish they lived closer.

Belated Christmas Pics

This Christmas we spent some time at Grandma Judy and Grandpa Donnie's house. Sienna didn't know what to think of the Christmas Party with all the presents under the tree that she could not open.

She looked so pretty in her Christmas Dress that Grandma Judy picked out.


Christmas morning she was relieved that she could open so many presents. She loved the baby doll cousin Carly sent her.

Here is her first tricycle. Too bad her legs are still too short to pedal herself. Until she grows a little she just jumps on and tells daddy "Go!"

Rainy Days

This week has been very rainy, and not just a drizzle. I have always loved rainy days and I think Sienna is going to love them too. We went for a walk to the mailbox and when we got back home I had a hard time convincing her to come inside.

We are approved!

How fitting that during national adoption month we get the ok that we are approved to adopt again. We are so excited to start this journey again and to add to our family. LDS Family Services recomends that the best way to get placed with a baby is to let family and friends all know that you are trying to adopt. You never know what connections may be made. So here we go friends and family we are ready! Sienna needs a little brother or sister, so keep us in mind if you know of someone looking to place a baby for adoption.

Our little Cowgirl

This year Sienna was the cowgirl Jessie from Toy Story II. We went to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. Sienna posed for the camera. She showed off her cute smile with her missing tooth. We visited the dentist and were told that it needed to come out. She will have this cute smile for the next couple of years until her big girl tooth comes in.

Then on Friday we went to dinner at a friend's house and got ready to go trick or treating.


Sienna enjoyed wearing her hat. Thank you Leilani for making her a cowgirl hat.

She realized that people would give her candy if she went up to their door. She liked that idea and had a hard time leaving the candy in her Elmo basket.

Sienna liked her hat so much that she wore it all around the house the next day. I think Halloween is much more fun when you have children.
