A New Hair Style

For a while S has been asking to cut her hair. She wanted it short like her friend M. Steve and I were not sure that we were ready to cut it. We love her long hair, but finally we agreed. My only desire was that if we were going to cut all her long beautiful hair off we would donate it to Locks of Love. (www.locksoflove.org ) We explained this to S, and she was more than happy to give her hair to a little girl who needed it. I will have to post more pictures that show off just how cute her hair is, but for now here she is with her new hair style.

Joyce got a new camera and we asked her to try it out on us. Thanks Joyce for the great shots. I have framed several of these.

One of the days we were in Denver we thought it would be fun to go ice skating.

Lucky for us Aunt Joyce came to the rescue. She was a lot better skater than Steve or I, and was able to help S understand what she was doing. She went around the rink several times with S and J and made skating fun for them.
















Everyone had fun . . . well almost everyone.

New Years Eve

D asked Joyce if their New Year's Eve tradition was to stay up late and drink bubble, and we decided that it was a good idea. We also added eating Chinese food and playing games to the list too.

Smurfs was the movie of the night and the cousins were all excited to stay up. At least until the movie was over. (What you thought we would let a 2, 3, and 4 year old stay up till midnight.)












This was one of my favorite New Years Eves.

New Years Eve Bowling

On Saturday we decided to go bowling. I was excited to show off my skills, but I was surprised to find my scores were not as high as the rest of the crew.

C showed off by bowling between his legs.


J had help from Steve at first, but then she said "I do it myself." She even wanted to carry the bowling ball by herself.



We also enjoyed a lunch of french fries. They were so good that we ordered a 3rd and a 4th basket. Who knew bowling ally fries were so good.










Joyce had to work, but she got off in time to come see the final round of bowling. It was a close game for Steve and Mike, but unfortunately our time at the alley ended before Mike could have his final bowl. It looks like Mike is going to have to have a rematch out here in California.
