Ballet

S has started a ballet / tap dancing class.

I think she likes it.

Morning gloom

Our day started out looking a little gloomy outside.

But the clouds have gone away and it is blue skies all over now.

Carpinteria

This last week we went to Carpinteria with the Blackburn family. It was a little colder than we expected, but so much fun.

We spent time with Aunts and Uncles,

and cousins.

Sienna and her cousin Carly were inseparable.

Juliette loved the water and it was hard to keep her away from the waves.

Grandma Judy finally suggested I put her in the wagon with a bucket of water and that worked great for a while.

Sienna was introduced to play make-up by Carly. Aunt Tami was a good sport and let Sienna practice on her. Juliette liked it too.

We also celebrated Uncle Jerry and Juliette's birthdays. We got Carrot cake, Uncle Jerry's favorite.

Juliette liked it too.

We slept in a tent. . .

and sometimes in a wagon.

Both little ones fell asleep on a walk to the beach.

Here are some of my other beach favorite shots.

Happy Birthday Juliette!

My baby turns one today. One year ago I held her for the first time, one year ago I kissed her sweet face. I can't believe how fast time has flown.

I saw a cute idea on someones blog for a birthday theme and I decided to use it. All week long Sienna, Juliette and I have read the story by Eric Carle of The Hungry Caterpillar. Sienna and I made some decorations to go with the story and my friend Leilani helped me make an adorable cake.

It was fun to get ready for the party, and everyone loved the decorations and cake, well almost everyone loved the cake. Juliette was not sure she liked being quite so messy.

She did like feeding her mama though.

No she didn't get a scooter for her birthday, but she was more interested in riding Sienna's scooter than opening presents. It was a fun party filled with lots of friends and great food.

We love our little Juliette.

The N- Word........

With Juliette walking everywhere and getting into everything, she has a new favorite word.
All we have to do is look in her direction and she will start telling us and herself "No, No."

Now if we can get her to put herself in timeout we will be set.

New Independance

Ever since Juliette started walking it is hard to keep her in the same room that we are in.

Lately I have been looking for her and finding her in the cutest places, and sometimes in situations that make me a little scared.

What mom . . . I am reading a book.

I was actually in the same room, working with Sienna when I looked up and found Juliette on our coffee table. She was so proud of herself. I didn't even realize she could get up into the chair next to the table. Needless to say my hart skipped a beat and I practically flew across the room to grab her. I then made Steve stand by her side so I could capture her proud face as she stood on top of her mountain.

Our visit with Dave and Nicole

While we visited Dave and Nicole we went to an aquarium in the seaport village of Mystic.

There were many different kinds of sea animals and fish, but the Beluga whales were
definitely an hit. We have been singing about baby beluga since Sienna was a baby.

After the aquarium we went downtown and walked along the water.

We went for lunch and ice cream and enjoyed looking at the shops in town.

Our day in Mystic was a hit and we can't wait to go back next year.

Dave and Nicole have a beautiful home on a quiet little street. We enjoyed visiting with them and swimming in their pool. Sienna and Juliette are definitely water babies. They could have stayed in the pool all weekend.

As we were packing up to leave, Sienna reminded Uncle Dave that he promised to show her the telescope.

Thanks Uncle Dave and Aunt Cole for a great time.
